Esin Onart joined BEH in 2024 and is excited to leverage her experience to support Oregon local governments. Her unique background includes working as in house counsel for both public agencies as well technology companies. Before joining BEH, Esin served as Deputy City Attorney at the Portland City Attorney’s Office where she focused on public contracting and procurement as well as technology transactions. Esin also worked as corporate counsel for a variety of technology companies, including Lattice Semiconductor Corporation where she was the lead commercial attorney for over 10 years. Esin started her career at the Oregon Department of Justice as an Assistant Attorney General in the General Counsel Division.

Esin attended Whitman College for her undergraduate degree and earned her J.D.  from Lewis and Clark Law School. Esin is a first generation immigrant of Turkish descent and grew up in Portland. She loves spending time in nature camping, hiking and bike riding. Esin lives in Portland with her family.
